Easter weekend

We had a pretty spectacular Easter weekend!  On Saturday, I co-hosted a baby shower for a very dear friend of mine.  I've known M since middle school, lived with her for many years in college, and now get to celebrate the upcoming birth of her first child.

The best part of the shower was the games, in my non-biased opinion.  ;)  We tried to think of games that would be entertaining for a co-ed crowd of all ages.

The first game was a beer tasting game just for the dudes.  They were each given a baggie with six baby bottles and had to correctly match as many to the actual beer bottle as possible.  The winner went home with a six pack of the individual bottles from the challenge.

You know it's gonna be a good shower when this is a main event.
Tasting and contemplating
The proud dad-to-be/winner.  He won fair and square and was just a teensy bit excited!  :)
The next game was called, "Make a Play-Doh Baby."  Everyone separated into pairs and used different colored play-doh to make a "baby."  I made the play-doh the night before (super easy) and some of the creations were actually really good!  The parents-to-be chose the best baby.

The last game was "Amazing Race: Baby Edition."  Teams of two had to complete various tasks ranging from...

Baby item memory recall...

Diapering a baby...

Dressing and swaddling a baby...

Figuring out how to put on a baby björn...

And finally, assembling (and disassembling) a pack-and-play.

The last team to complete each task was eliminated and the final pair to finish won.

Friends since middle school!

Easter Sunday was a nice, low key day with my family.  We had an early dinner and egg hunt for the kids in our backyard.

But, by far, the best part was witnessing my brother propose to his girl friend!!  We have all been eagerly waiting for this and had no clue it was going to happen when it did.

I've never taken G to take his picture with the Easter bunny because he kind of creeps me out.  I do love seeing everyone else's pics with him (her?) though!
