Monday Musings

  • We finally got some rain!!!  Not anywhere close to enough, but just to get even a little was enough to get giddy about.  Most of the fires around the state have been contained.  The impact left, however, is far from over.

  • This past weekend was ACL!  For all of you that either live under a rock or do not follow the music scene, I am referring to "Austin City Limits," the annual music festival.  Last year I did not go as I had just had G and did not want to leave him for an extended amount of time while being new to nursing.  Ummmm.... pumping in public or in a port-a-potty?  No gracias.  This year I knew I would be going for one day (three days just requires too much energy and time away from my baby for this mama).  The weather was perfect and I loved seeing Coldplay perform again.  My favorite new performer of the day was Santigold.  Of course once I got back to my car, I had to dig out my old mixed CD's circa 2006 to bust out the Coldplay tunes and sing nice and loud all the way home.  Epic.

  • G didn't like the smack I was talking about from my last post when I mentioned his walking, or lack thereof.  So he took four steps yesterday just to prove me wrong.  I couldn't believe it and didn't get it on video to document it (go figure), but it's becoming a reality that we will actually have a toddler who toddles on our hands soon.  Someone find me some duct tape!  His latest joy (and I use that term very loosely) is playing in the bathroom.  Our latest childproofing method has been to keep all bathroom doors closed to prevent this...
Exhibit A: G's bathroom destruction

Happy Monday, everyone!
