The G Word

I'm not sure what "G" word sprang to your mind, but I'm 99.9% sure it's not the one that's been on my mind...

Genetics.

A cause for jubilation (I got my dad's skin and my dad's lack of cavities)

                and

a cause for curses (I got my mom's eye sight and my mom's body type).

Hmmm.... noticing a trend?  Hehe.  Trust me, there are plenty of things I inherited from my mom that I love although I'm not sure if it's due to genetics.  Like my love of reading.  My bff in middle school used to come over for slumber parties and we would stay up at night and read.  Seriously.  I can't make this stuff up.  Nerdy much?

Anyway, I digress.  The other day I looked in the mirror and noticed something, but my first thought was, "No, that can't be!  I'm too young!"

Then I looked again.  And freaked out.  And plucked that sucker out as fast as I could.  I always knew it was a good chance but preferred to live in denial.  I found a white hair.  Eeeek!  My maternal grandmother started going white at age 22 and my mom was the same.  Looks like I inherited that lovely gene although I was fortunate enough to have several more years on them.

I guess hair coloring is in my future now.  Not cool, genetics, not cool.  Sigh.
