Friday Randoms

  • Since we started our diet/personal training on Monday, I have lost four pounds.  Four pounds!  It's too early to get really excited, but I feel that it's a good start.  Of course, I'm also on a strict 1000 calories/day diet and am working out hard everyday (with one rest and cheat day for eating each week), but that's neither here nor there.  :)

  • I had all sorts of things on the party menu that I was going to tackle by cooking myself but realized last night that we have zero space for all of this food in our fridge.  Between our new fridge and the old one we keep in the garage, both fridges are stocked with drinks for the party, diet food, and all sorts of other things.  Soooo, we are going the easy route and getting Rudy's BBQ and I'm only going to cook a very pared down version of the menu that I had originally planned.  At first I was a little disappointed because I wanted to go all out, but it will definitely be less stressful and I'm already going to be busy with all sorts of other things to make.

  • G took his first couple of steps unassisted yesterday!  He didn't seem super impressed though and is still crawling like a mad man.

  • I made it to two of my early bootcamp classes this week.  Two out of three - not bad if I do say so myself!  I've decided that 99% of the effort is just waking up and getting myself there.

  • Last night I found R reading in our bed with a notsosmall pile of clothes on the floor by his side of the bed.  Side note: One of my pet peeves is leaving clothes all over the place on the ground.  When we first started dating, he didn't even own a hamper!  I know.  Now I tell him that they have to at least make it to the hamper if they are going to get washed.  Ok, back to my story...  I went over to him, pointed to the ground, and casually asked, "Ummm, what is this?"  His response?  "De nada."  I was puzzled to say the least.  Me: "De nada?"  R: "Yeah, it's nothing (with a smile on his face since he knows I can't stand it)."  That is when I busted out laughing and informed him that putting "de" in front of "nada" makes it "you're welcome."  We both got a good laugh and I've decided that he needs to start listening to his Rosetta Stone tapes again.

That's all I have for now.  My mind is a bit scatterbrained with the party planning in full steam.  Check back soon for one year pictures my BFF took last weekend.
