Checking ... One, Two, Three

Is this thing still on?

So it seems I've been M.I.A.  Ooops!  I promise it wasn't on purpose - just life reared its head and got the best of me and while I had every intention of writing (and tons of unimportant things to blog about to boot), I could just not drag myself to do it.

So, for that, I am sorry.

Did you notice anything when you came to my page?  I would surely hope so because not only was it the best money I've spent in a good long while, my blog now looks beautiful!  And not plain, boring, and ugly!  Ahhhh...

Jessica at DiamondDollDesign was uh-mazing to work with and I would highly recommend her if you are looking to spruce up your own webspace.  And?  Her fees are incredibly reasonable.

G's party was everything I hoped it would be, but I'm saving that post for after his 10 and 11 month posts.  Ooops.  Still gotta go in chronological order even if I'm several months behind - just one of those OCD things about me.  Also, we still may or may not have party décor hanging around the house two weeks later.  Another thing on my to-do list!

This week meant back to school and back to crazy, ridiculous traffic.  Dude, what happened to the summer?  And have I mentioned before how glad I am to be at home this coming year?  The thought of being in a classroom right now makes my head spin.  Soooo incredibly happy to be at home with my little man.  That's not to say that I don't want to work again, just not right now.

The work-out regimen is still going strong!  I'm a master at sticking to my 1000 cal/day regimens and have lost 6 pounds to date.  Not a big number BUT my clothes fit differently and I'm now between sizes in pants ... annoying and gratifying at the same time.  Do I go and buy a new pair of jeans that I know I'll only fit for three weeks at most or wait it out until I can fit into the drawer full of jeans that are still too tight?  Decisions, decisions.

Not only do I have to stick to a calorie limit, but I'm also supposed to hit a protein and fiber amount while staying under a specific sugar amount.  I get so caught up in the calories that I lose focus of the protein goal (100g) which is hard to do.  At least I think so.  R meets his goal (his is higher than mine) by eating massive amounts of egg whites and drinking protein shakes everyday.  I don't like the thought of drinking a protein shake and I'm not too keen on eating bowlfuls of egg whites.

Well last night I tried his approach and made one cup of egg whites with some bell pepper, diced onion, and ground pepper to add some flavor.  Ever wondered what a cup of egg whites looks like?

Now you don't have to wonder.  You're welcome.

I could only manage to eat half of it.  Gross - I don't know how R does it.

I know, my life is way too exciting for all of you cool kids out there.  My bed is calling my name if I'm going to get my buns up for the early boot camp.  More exciting posts to come.  Pinky promise!
