Say It Ain't So*

(*side note: You are supposed to read the title like the Weezer song, not in a Southern drawl)

It finally happened. We swear up and down as teenagers that the day will never come. There is NO way that is EVER going to happen to ME! If I could, I would go back in time to my skinny adolescent self and tell her it straight... not that she would believe me.

Rewind to last night - 11 p.m. G Man had been fighting sleep (no surprise), but Mama had won the battle at last. And then I heard it. Teenage voices from outside my window yelling.

And then this conversation with myself ensued:
"What the .........?!?"
"Why are they outside at this hour causing so much noise?!?"
"What are they doing on OUR driveway and in OUR yard?!?"
"Are they playing hide-and-seek?!?"
"Don't they know there are kids trying to sleep?!?"
"One, two, three.... seventeen kids! You have got to be KIDDING me!"
"I am going to go out there and tell them to be quiet. Don't they know how late it is and I have a 3 month old I'm trying to get to sleep!!!"

OH. MY. GOD.

I've become my mother!

sigh.
