- G is still sleeping in our bed, but we just bought bed rails from Amazon to put on his "big boy" bed. It's actually our queen guest bed, but since we opted for a play room instead of a guest room, he is inheriting it. I won't have to worry about him going downstairs alone in the dark in the middle of the night if he wakes up... he hasn't (yet) figured out our door knobs, so I think I'm okay for a least a few months.
- Daylight savings has actually helped me get him back on his regular schedule before our move. What seemed like way back when, he was going down (in his crib... I miss those days) between 7:00 and 7:30, but now we are usually pushing 8:30. Since we gained that extra hour, he has been getting up only slightly earlier, but is ready for bed at the 7:00-7:30 time. This makes for one very happy mama.
- Daylight savings is making me feel like an eighty year old. I am hungry for dinner by 5:00 and ready for bed by 8:00. Several days this week I have actually stayed in bed with G and gone to sleep myself. I'm not prego, just extra sleepy for some reason.
- It is crazy to me that Thanksgiving is only two weeks away. How is that even possible?!? We are hosting this year, so I am trying not to get stressed out.
- I missed my Crossfit class on Tuesday so I could stay home and watch the election results. We were supposed to have friends over to watch with us, so I had gone to the store and had already prepped dinner in the crock pot. They couldn't make it because one of them came down with a stomach bug, but I still stayed home. It only happens every four years (the presidential election, obviously, not my cooking)!
- G needs a hair cut, but we are having family pictures this weekend and I don't want his hair short in the photos. Looks like that will be on the agenda for next week!
- I took G to a free sports class this morning. They had all different kinds of sports equipment out and it was basically more of an open gym where they got to explore. He loved carrying the big basketballs around the most. Am I the only mom who has been counting down the days since birth until he can play sports? Next year he will be able to start soccer and t-ball and I can't wait! No, I will not be one of those crazy sports parents that pressures my kid into playing and yells at the ref on the sidelines.
- I love lunch dates with my main squeeze, but I hate being the only parent in the play area with 10+ kids all under the age of four. One girl was not sharing with another girl causing her to cry, and the teacher in me just can't sit there and ignore it. I tried my best to talk to them without getting too involved since (hello!) they are not my kids, and the crying girl's mom finally came in and took over. Phew!

| Someone was too busy stuffing his face to be bothered for a picture. :) |
- I actually chose a booth farthest away from the play area hoping that G wouldn't see it so we wouldn't have to go in there and deal with potential bratty kids and germ infested equipment. He made a beeline for it as soon as he spotted it post-lunch.
- I bought this basket at Target for our shoes because it drives me nuts when R leaves his shoes all over the house. Minor annoyance really, I know. Well, the shoe basket is full of my shoes now (oops!) leaving hardly any room for his, so back to Target I went to pick up another basket.

| Can you guess which one is mine?? |
- I love a good reason to have to go to Target. ;)
- It's rare for me to leave Target without spending $50. It's a black hole that I can't explain to R, so I try to avoid Target and only go once (or twice) a month. Other stores that fall into this same category are HomeGoods, Kohl's, and Whole Foods. These are some of the odds and ends I wound up purchasing besides the intended basket...

- G loves two apps on my iPhone that teach him about shapes and colors. I feel slightly guilty for using it as a distractor when I need him to sit quietly somewhere, but sometimes as a parent, you have to do whatever works. At least he is learning and expanding his vocabulary!
- I also picked up this little gem on sale at Target. I am so bad at doing my hair but am going to attempt curling it for our family photos. I'll let you know how that goes!

Okay I have to say I absolutely LOVE the idea of the baskets for keeping shoes. My foyer is constantly crazy looking because we tend to take off our shoes before entering the rest of the house. Great idea that I am definately stealing!!
oh he's so cute! and chick-fil-a dates with little ones are the best. I love taking my nephew out! sounds like you're having a great week!
xoxo, Amy
I'm hosting my 1000th post party, love for you to come!
Thanks guys! Tiffany, the baskets are definitely more sightly to me, too, than shoes everywhere. Now if I can only get R to actually PUT his shoes IN the basket... hehe. Amy, congrats on your 1000th post! Wow!! What an accomplishment. :)
