Serenity now!

G is at this fun stage where if he doesn't get his way, and immediately I might add, he does these horrific-to-your-ears screams and full out tantrums.  I think I'm going to invest in some parenting books for my kindle to read on the plane... hehe.  I've heard good things about Love & Logic from several people, and I've also wanted to read books about parenting boys specifically.  Any suggestions??

I don't think my parenting skills are lacking, per say, but it would be nice and refreshing to hear opinions from "experts" on how to best deal with the difficult times.

Sometimes I put him in his crib for some quiet time even if he has already napped just so I can get 10-15 minutes of quiet time myself to reboot.

When he is not screaming and throwing tantrums (which, thankfully, isn't the majority of the time), he is sweet, happy, and funny.  He only prefers to play alone if he is making a stinky, otherwise, he's my little shadow.  There are plenty of moments, like today, where he makes my heart absolutely melt.  We were out shopping and he reached his arms up to grab my neck and embrace me in a long hug and kiss.  All from the seat of the shopping cart.

In other news, I've been loving the coverage of the Olympic trials on tv!  Can't wait for the real thing at the end of this month (I know, I'm a nerd)!  It's been a little bit of a time suck from what I should be doing, which is packing, but I just can't help myself.

Speaking of packing, moving with someone falls into the category of "potential stressor to your relationship."  Haha, all is well here at home, but I've come to realize that we definitely have different views on packing.

Our relationship wouldn't last if we were partners on Amazing Race, although it would make for some good tv drama!  Let's just say that he is very Type A and I can be very stubborn about getting my way if I see mine as more logical (which I often do, of course, even if it's not)!  This has led to some very silly arguments in the past between the two of us.

If these are my complaints, I consider myself a lucky gal.  More updates to come soon!
