Our life lately (in pictures)

Warning: picture [and text] overload!

Hello dolls.  Long time, no blog.  Sorry for my absence but I have returned bearing lots o' pics to share with you.

The weather has been so crazy lately!  Last weekend it was too cold for my taste and sleeting and then went back to the high 70's and gorgeous outside.  Then cold and rainy again and now sunshine.  I am so ready for springtime weather.

At then end of January, I ran a half marathon as a relay with my dad - his first "race!"  I use the term "race" loosely since our goals were to finish and to have fun.  My dad actually logged more miles leading up to the run than I did.  My brother and his girlfriend did the race with us as a two-man relay team as well.  Best part of the marathon - everyone gets a medal and they always have good food at the finish line!

Please excuse my squinty eyes and triple layer look I was sporting - it was cold!
Girl scout cookie season has come and gone in our household.  We bought six boxes from my cookie wielding niece, only to devour them in less than a week.  The main culprit?  The infamous sweets bandit that likes to leave no crumb behind!  Remember this post about the empty ice cream cartons in the freezer?  Well, he struck again leaving empty cookie boxes in the pantry.  Mama was not happy to find her lemon cookies gone, so I had no other options but to order two more boxes.  :)

Now you see them...

... now you don't!  Grrrrrr!

We had our yards landscaped and are *almost* ready to put the house on the market!  Eeeeek!  Exciting and sad at the same time.

The lovely grinder pump alarm went off Wednesday night, and of course R was in Boston for work.  I called the plumbers and made an appointment for the following afternoon.  After much hassle, frustration, and many more benjamins later... it is fixed... for good.  The plumbing company was basically insinuating that even though we had it freaking replaced just three weeks ago, we must be flushing things we are not supposed to and that is why the new pump is not working properly.  Yeaaaah, no.  I think it was just working fine for the first twelve years since we didn't even know it existed!  From now on, I'm calling this guy if we ever need a plumber again.  His work is deemed reliable and he really knows how to clear the pipes!  (Okay, I know that was an awful joke.)

Our V-Day was nice and low key.  R was in Boston, so it was just me and my main squeeze.  I don't work on Tuesdays or Thursdays, so I was able to take G up to his school for his little class party.  Then we had a fancy lunch date at Chick-Fil-A and played with the train table at the book store before hitting up the park.  And, of course, he looked super handsome in his Valentine's outfit and received many compliments and adoring looks.

Thanks to the time sucker better known as pinterest, I was able to make cute goodie bags for his friends and some yummy V-Day puppy chow for his teachers.  All in all, a wonderful V-Day if I do say so myself!

Now that I've caught you up on our general shenanigans, I need to do an 18 month post for my sweet pea next!
