Hello February

I looked down at my watch on Wednesday to find the date, only to realize that it was already February.  Why helloooo there.  I never liked how February is spelled with that extra "r," and I've never been a huge fan of V-day unless it involved all things kids.  This month, however, is already shaping up to be a jam packed (short) month of goodness.  Lots of fun times ahead hand written in my lovely planner that I've actually been using.

Sweet G has been in the throes of a big, bad, nasty cold all week long.  It has been really fun, but I have to be thankful for my hardworking immune system for keeping the sickies mostly at bay.  They definitely attacked me, but my defenses have worked much better than R's.

Thanks to his hacking cough, I've had another bunkmate at night.  How is it possible that someone who is only 32 inches long can take up all the room in your king size bed?  Seriously!  He pin balls his way up and down the bed between the two of us, kicking his legs, throwing his ginormous cabeza around, and taking no prisoners.  This boy is one serious bedtime brute.  I have his nursery lullaby cd going on repeat right now in hopes that constant music will lull him into staying in his crib all night long.

R was gone all weekend, so it was just me and my two amigos, Ben and Jerry, hangin' on the couch once G went down for the night ... that is, until his cough woke him up for the sixth time in a span of two hours and I finally dragged him into our bed.

As much as I dislike getting beat up by my toddler all night long, I do love when he first wakes up in the morning (even though for whatever reason it's always earlier than he wakes up on his own in his room).  He sits up, looks at me, realizes where he is, and then just lunges over to hug me.  Melts my heart.  I love that snotty little dude so much.

My favorite moment of this week, by far, happened when R was telling me about a birth control recall in the news.  Jokingly (obviously) because of our little surprise, I asked him, "Think there's money to be made?"  To which he replied immediately, "No!  We should send them a thank you note!"  Wow, I love that man!

Work is well underway on our lovely yards as we are thinking about putting our house on the market and moving into something slightly bigger to accommodate more niños in the future.  It is very exciting but also a little bittersweet since R put so much work into this house recently, and we had planned to add on and stay here.  It doesn't seem to be the best financial move, though, and we are considering moving a bit further out to have one acre or more.  Decisions, decisions!
