Papoose, Schmoose

My little man is going to an opthamologist tomorrow to have his clogged tear duct examined.  He has had it since day one and after trying ointment and drops without success, our pedi assured us that 90% of cases go away on their own by age one.

Apparently we are in the 10% - no surprise since I got pregnant on the pill.  We are used to not being "the normal" when it comes to percentages.

Instead of putting him under, which I realize is safe but still gave me some anxiety, we opted to go to a dr. that straps children to a papoose board, applies topical numbing drops, and opens up the clogged duct in less than five minutes.  The downside(s)?  That we have to stay in the waiting room and that G will be awake for the whole thing and HATE it.  Poor baby.

The upsides?  That he doesn't have to be put under and that he will never remember this experience (*hopefully*).

Please keep us in your thoughts for a smooth procedure.  We are so ready to be done with this darn tear duct!
